Body Fat Loss Program
|
It can be a confusing world of wrong information, misinformation and
partial truths when you’re looking for the body fat loss program that’s
right for you. How to select a plan that will help you reach a healthy goal?
Let’s look at some common methods to achieve body fat loss.
Too often, an extremely strict diet is the first step people take when they
decide to lose weight. Starving yourself may seem like a get-slim-quick
plan, and you may drop weight in the short term. The results are never
lasting, however, and you may end up doing more harm than good for your body
fat loss goals. While avoiding food, you may experience headaches,
dizziness, nausea and dehydration. As soon as you go back to normal eating,
which you must do if you want to avoid very serious health complications,
you will put back the lost weight and then some, as your body tries to gain
back what it missed.
Another thing to avoid is fad diets. These come and go every few years and
the temptation to jump on the diet bandwagon is great. True and lasting body
fat loss does not rely on any gizmo, gadget or hot diet scheme. Be
especially cautious of those plans that seem to promise unrealistic results,
like any more than one pound a week of weight loss, six-pack abs without any
sit-ups, or instant results while eating the same as always.
Some fad diets come with risks to your overall health. The high protein,
low-carb diets, for example, may result in overworked kidneys. You will
achieve body fat loss, but your kidneys will need to work overtime to get
rid of the waste caused by excess protein and fat.
Such programs are also hard to stick to, because restricting your favorite
and common foods easily leads to a sense of deprivation and frustration. For
many of us, that creates a situation in which we are prone to pig-out on
high-fat, sticky-sweet foods that are not going to help our weight loss
efforts the least little bit.
High-carb foods are not the only ones forbidden under many fad diets. Fats
are also a common target, and cutting these out may seem like a good idea if
body fat loss is the goal. Beware, however, that low fat does not mean
healthy. It does not even mean low-calorie. These are not the same. Baked
goods, for instance, could be made with low-fat ingredients, but provide way
too much sugar and starches.
