Fruits and vegetables are important because they can help you lose weight and give your body the vitamins it needs. Try eating at least twelve servings of organic fruits and vegetables a day. Fruits and veggies are a natural source of Vitamins, minerals, and disease fighting antioxidants. Twelve servings may seem like a lot but with all those fruits and veggies you will be too full to eat junk food. If you can not eat this many servings, put your fruits and veggies in a blender and drink them as a juice instead.

The color of the fruit or vegetable has a lot to do with what it can do for your body. Blue and purple fruits like blueberries and plums help reduce cancer and protect your urinary tract. Green vegetables like broccoli and celery protect your bones, teeth and eyes. Whites like mushrooms and onions for healthy heart function. Orange and yellow fruits and veggies like oranges and carrots to boost your immune system. Reds like apples and beets are good for memory function and heart health.

Another important fat loss tip is to limit your intake of saturated fats from processed foods. You want unsaturated fats from almonds and vegetables. Only thirty percent of your calorie intake should be from fat, the rest should be from a balance fruits, vegetable, whole grains, and high protein foods. Experiment with exotic recipes, using aromatic spices to flavor bland-tasting foods

You should make these changes at the right time, when you do not have a major problem to deal with because the more stress you have, the less likely you will succeed in your plan to lose weight. That does not mean you eat unhealthy food every time something bad happens to you but understand that stressful situations can actually cause your body to hold on to extra weight.

Try tracking your progress with a calorie chart to keep you motivated. Each day, record the amount of calories you eat and subtract the number of calories exercise burns off. Compare these numbers with the recommended daily value to make sure you are staying on track. Having a realistic plan with a clear goal will make losing weight easier. Make sure the goal is realistic and attainable. If you set an impossible goal you will only feel worse about yourself when you do not reach it.

Find a friend who also wants to lose weight. You can share fat loss tips and motivate each other to reach your goals. Exercising is far more fun when you jog, ride your bike, or do aerobics with a friend. Make sure you can find a friend you can trust to motivate you and will allow you to motivate them in return.
