Fighting Fat Aids Weight Loss
|
There are many ways to fight fat and aid in weight loss that you can
easily incorporate into your daily life.
Begin your day with a larger meal
and end it with a smaller one. You should eat more carbohydrates earlier in
the morning so that you have the rest of the day to burn them off, saving a
salad and lean meat for dinner. Eating larger meals during the part of the
day when you are most active will help you to feel satisfied throughout the
day so you will not feel as hungry and are less likely to eat unhealthy
snacks.
Consider eating fish like salmon or mackerel instead of bacon or sausage for
breakfast to work in Omega-3 fatty acids into your diet. Fish will give you
the protein and fish oils you need instead of the grease and saturated fat
that bacon will give you.
Instead of eating breads and buns with your sandwiches and hamburgers at
lunch, try wrapping your double cheeseburger with leaves of lettuce. Bread
and buns are full of carbohydrates and add weight to your body.
Just because you are trying to lose weight does not mean you have to skip
dessert as long as you eat healthy desserts such as cottage cheese with
fruit slices or cream with berries.
Berries are sweet without adding fat and they are high in fiber and
nutrients. Cottage cheese and dairy products are high in protein.
Fruit juice is not always a good replacement for eating fruit. Read the
labels to see how much actual fruit it contains instead of sugar and
artificial ingredients. Fresh fruit has less sugar than juice and has fiber
so it helps to fight fat and aids in weight loss.
Be carful of meal replacement shakes and bars, they may claim to be healthy,
but probably contain hydrogenated oil and sweeteners making them only
slightly healthier than regular candy bars. Low-carb or diet pastries may
still contain sugar and flour which add pounds to your body. They may be
healthier than your typical muffin as an occasional treat, but remember to
stick with the basics for continued low-carb success.
When you go grocery shopping, remember that all of the healthy foods, such
as fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products, are found around the
stores walls because these foods need to be kept cold. Start on one end of
the outer aisle and work your way around the store without walking down the
chips or candy aisles.
If you are not sure what foods to eat, consult a low- carb cookbook. These
cookbooks often have tips and advice on purchasing and preparing meats,
fruits and vegetables in new and delicious ways. Also, cookbooks can tell
you how many carbohydrates or calories are in each recipe.
Consult your doctor or dietician about talking a multivitamin if you are
worried about not getting enough daily vitamins and minerals in your fight
against fat and weight loss.
