Free Fat Loss Programs
|
In the world of diet systems and it seems there is something to suit
everyone, from complicated and expensive programs to simple and free fat
loss regimens.
Once you decide to lose weight, get in shape and burn off those excess
pounds, you may also decide to get some help. For some, that means free fat
loss classes at a local community center, for others, a search for a
personal trainer. Many programs are available on video and online.
Traditionally, weight loss lends itself to books as a way for people to
learn a system of weight loss from an expert or other authority. But, just
as online resources can be vast and overwhelming; choosing the book that is
right for you can be almost as much of a challenge as dropping those extra
pounds.
Here, then, is a summary of some of the big names among the books and
systems that are available for free fat loss.
Atkins' New Diet Revolution - In this groundbreaking book by Dr. Atkins,
carbohydrates are the enemy. One frequent comment is that by focusing on all
other dietary elements but carbs, this diet could be too high in fat.
Protein intake is increased, and free fat loss is less likely as a result.
You will also get as many vegetables as you can handle if you choose this
diet, because you will be restricting bread, pasta, rice and baked goods.
Choose to Lose - Dr. Goor focuses on fat intake in this book. A fixed amount
of fat is available for the diet; it can come from such sources as lean
meat, poultry and low-fat dairy. Because the amount of fat is restricted,
you decide how and when to use your fat ration. The Goor diet emphasizes
vegetables, fruits, cereals, bread and other sources of protein and
carbohydrates. Because of that, some experts take exception to the
triglyceride levels associated with Choose to Lose, but ensuring a good
amount of unsaturated fats should take care of that.
Carbohydrate Addict's Diet - Similar to the Atkins book, this missive by Dr.
Heller calls for a dramatic reduction in carbohydrates to achieve free fat
loss. Meat, poultry, vegetables and dairy are emphasized – so long as
carbohydrates are kept to a minimum. The book suggests a special meal to
reward yourself, but some consider the special meal to be too high-fat and
contains too many saturated fats.
The DASH Diet - If carbs are not your problem, this may be the free fat loss
book for you. This plan calls for reduced amounts of fat and protein, and
increased protein and carbs. This program focuses on lowering blood pressure
rather than on weight loss, and it shows in the meal plans. Grounded in
fundamental good guide principles, this diet calls for high amounts of whole
grain products, and plenty of fruits and vegetables, together with low-fat
dairy products.
